Holly Jolly Christmas Cake
There are two types of people in this world: those who thoroughly enjoy wrapping presents, and those who use gift bags instead. There’s nothing wrong with the latter, but I’m definitely the first type. Wrapping presents has always been therapeutic for me - even since I was a kid.
Last year when I was looking for some Christmas wrapping paper, I stumbled across this gorgeous striped roll at Target. It immediately caught my eye and inspired this cake design.
Equally as important were the cake layers underneath. I needed something fun, yet classic - pink velvet seemed to fit the bill perfectly!
The stripes are made with buttercream while the bow is navy blue fondant.
I’m always reminded of how much respect I have for decorators after cakes like this - stripes are no easy feat!
Enjoy and happy wrapping!
