Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

I’m not sure how to ease the sting of the “dog days of summer”, but I know that ice cream has never hurt (unless you’re lactose intolerant).

I first made this cake over a year ago for my birthday and decided to give it a revisit and a long overdue facelift.

Out with the Old, In with the New

A few things that changed since the initial cake:

  • Thicker layers! Thicker layers are never a bad thing in my opinion.

  • More caramel and chocolate ganache - the first cake lacked these two elements simply because I didn’t use enough!

  • More sprinkles! Again, never a bad thing in my opinion.

Cake Confidence

This cake turned out beautifully and exactly how I pictured.

  • Chocolate and vanilla cake layers

  • Caramel sauce

  • Chocolate ganache

  • Salted peanuts

  • Sprinkles

  • Whipped vanilla buttercream

  • Cherries on top!

I am in no way a professional photographer but photography is something I thoroughly enjoy outside of cakes. Seeing my pictures grow and develop over time is very rewarding for me and gives me a much-needed confidence boost, as most of the time, we’re our own worst critics, right?

So, I hope this cake leaves you with a little drool in your mouth and a renewed sense to keep pushing forward in your own personal endeavors, whatever they may be.

Enjoy this throwback photo to the first time I made and photographed this cake!
