Banana Pudding Cake

CLASSIC THANKSGIVING DESSERTS

Let’s talk about those classic Thanksgiving desserts - those desserts almost guaranteed to be at any Thanksgiving dinner.

Pecan Pie? Love it.

Pumpkin Pie? Depends on who makes it.

My mom’s tiger stripes? Yes, I’ll have 5. And another 5.

Fudge? It’s a big no for me.

Bread pudding? All day. With ice cream.

Banana Pudding? I’m taking the WHOLE dish and then coming back for seconds.

Skip the ham, skip the turkey, skip the green bean casserole and Sister Shubert’s rolls. Give me the banana pudding.

It’s my favorite dessert because I’ve NEVER had a banana pudding I didn’t like. Aunt Susie’s? Perfect. Grandma Betty’s? Outstanding. Uncle Joe’s? Phenomenal! Homemade, pre-made, store bought, it doesn’t matter. It’s all wonderful.

With holidays fast approaching, I knew it was time for me to turn this gem of a dessert into a cake and this cake is everything I wanted it to be and more!

THE DESIGN

The look of this cake is inspired by the infamous Milk Bar cakes - naked and stacked. It’s a nice change from the cakes I typically do that are coated in buttercream.

THE ELEMENTS

  • White cake layers

  • Banana cream filling

  • Fresh whipped cream

  • Toasted Nilla Wafer crumble (!!!)

  • And for an added twist yet welcomed twist - homemade caramel!

If you need me, I’ll be in banana pudding heaven.

Enjoy!
