Cinnamon Roll Cake

TRADITION

Thomas and I love tradition and we love making traditions. Especially with Penelope, there’s a whole plethora of things we want to do every year, every week, every birthday, every Christmas, etc.

For Thomas, it’s having prom pictures taken on our staircase. 
For me, it’s homemade cinnamon rolls every Christmas morning. 

That’s how this cake came about. I’m not a cinnamon roll fanatic, but they definitely have their place on my recipe stand. And as I began planning my baking for December, I remembered I wanted to start this tradition. What better way to start a tradition than with a cake? 

THE ELEMENTS

This cake has:

• Six Cinnamon Cake layers

• Cinnamon cream cheese filling

• Brown butter cinnamon roll spread

• Classic vanilla bean buttercream

I hope Christmas morning cinnamon rolls are a tradition that Penelope carries with her into her own family one day, so that her kids and/or spouse wake up to the smell of cinnamon rolls on the best day of the year. But if she doesn’t, that’s okay too. 😊 She’ll always have prom pictures, right?
