S’mores Cake
I’m not sure what’s up with the dessert-inspired cake train I’ve been on lately, but I’m not mad about it.
DESSERT INSPIRED CAKES
The desserts that I’m making cakes out of remind me of the good in life - the comfort of cinnamon rolls, the laughter around s’mores, the tradition of banana pudding - and I want to try my best to convey that goodness in the best way I know how. Which is obviously cake.
This cake takes me to a fire pit on a breezy night on the very tip of “the Cape” in Cape San Blas, Florida. 2020 was the last time I enjoyed a proper s’more and it was there on the beach, surrounded by laughter and love.
THE ELEMENTS
- Graham cracker crust
- Chocolate cake layers
- Chocolate ganache
- Toasted marshmallow filling
- Chocolate drip
- Chocolate buttercream
The chocolate ganache seeps down into the layers and drenches them as you can see below - it’s an incredibly rich cake.
WHAT’S NEXT?
This cake is a nice break from the fall themed cakes that will soon transition into full fledged Christmas cakes! I’m so ready.
