With my own daughter about to enter the wonderful world of two, this cake had a whole new meaning to me.

I collaborated with the mom of a recently turned two-year-old to design this Grinch-inspired birthday cake and the results are… well, you can see for yourself.

We started with the basis of it all - flavor. Five deliciously moist strawberry cake layers sit underneath a silky smooth vanilla buttercream to bring this cake some height.

Next, the design. We chose a red and white striped design, a hand-made 2D fondant Grinch plaque, and a whimsical Christmas tree (which happens to be an ice cream cone) topped with some “snow” from Sweet Sticks.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this cake and I’m thankful for each of you who trust me to be such a big part of your special days!
