A New Year’s Day Wedding
There’s just something about New Year’s Day. The start of something new; a clean slate free from the previous year’s toils and troubles. I’m not one for New Year resolutions, but the appeal of new goals being set and producing a better version of yourself, your business, or whatever it may be that you’re looking to improve is certainly something that I believe many of us need - especially right now.
Couple that feeling of hope and ambition with the exchanging of vows and a new life together, and the result is something magical!
The bride’s cake was a simple - yet oh-so-elegant - semi-naked chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and a white chocolate drip. It’s also paired with pink and white macarons.
The groom’s cake provided perfect contrast in the form of a more modern, square S’mores cake.
I use acrylic disks for most cakes to get sharp edges and straight lines, so it was a no brainer to do the same for this square cake. I love the final result!
The s’mores cake boasts dark chocolate cake layers baked on graham-cracker crust, toasted marshmallow filling, chocolate ganache, and of course some classic s’mores on top. Drooling yet? 😉
Happy New Year everyone! Enjoy!
