Dirt Cup Inspired Cake

Who in the world gets hyped about Earth Day? Me! Because of this cake. 

A dirt cup was hands down my favorite treat as a kid. 

A Snack-Pac chocolate pudding with some gummy worms - never the sour one - and a few Oreos if I was lucky. Sour gummy worms were another dessert all by themselves. 

In honor of Earth Day, I decided to take that simple Dirt Cup and make it into a layer cake! 

• Chocolate cake layers baked on an Oreo crust

• Homemade chocolate pudding filling

• Gummy worms (duh)

• Chocolate Oreo buttercream for a nice “dirt” look

I was hesitant about placing the gummy worms into the cake, as I was unsure how they’d cut, but they cut nicely! They look so realistic, too! (Almost too realistic.).

Get your shovels (spoons) and dig in!
