Happy Spring Wreath Cake

Happy Spring!

We celebrated Easter this weekend alongside this little blue cake.

I wanted to put something together that was happy to look at and of course, something that was fun to make and decorate.

I landed on this robin blue color, tinted with just 2 drops of Americolor Sky Blue.

Next, I piped the wreath on top with some brown buttercream and a Wilton 233 tip. The bird’s nest is also piped with the same grass tip.

The white cherry blossoms and leaves are buttercream and were piped with varying size leaf tips - Wilton 102, 103, and 104 - and then frozen before being placed on the cake with a pair of flower scissors.

The moss cookies are the hidden superstar of this cake - they add such a realistic aspect and some much-needed contrast. They’re just sugar cookies made with green food coloring and sprinkled with green-dyed graham crackers and baked in blob-type shapes - how cool is that?!

The cherry on top? Cadbury Eggs in the bird’s nest. My favorite of all time. I may or may not hoard them this time of year.

That’s it! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend remembering what Jesus did on the cross. It’s finished!

Enjoy friends!
