Steel Magnolias

Auburn, Alabama

I’m so excited to introduce my latest wedding cake design: Steel Magnolias.

This oh-so-elegant wedding cake was inspired by a little weekend getaway to one of my favorite places on earth, Auburn, Alabama.

The house we stayed in was located out in the country, about 30 minutes from campus, and the driveway was lined with 20+ magnolia trees. The trees were mature and produced the most magnificent magnolia blooms. I left that vacation feeling inspired by those trees and knew they were going to be part of my next cake design.

Thus we have her!

Technical Details

Steel Magnolias is a four-tiered stark white wedding cake laced with magnolia blooms and greenery.

The four tiers are sized as follows: 10”, 8”, 6” double barrel, and 4” top. This cake could easily feed up to 105 servings.

Metal Detailing

I wanted to incorporate metal into this cake to provide some contrast but wasn’t sure how to go about it. And then I stumbled across this champagne gold hoop separator from Prop Options.

Prop Options is located in the UK and I ended up ordering a few different stands from them, and they all arrived within days of each other. Amazing customer service and amazing products! (This is not a sponsored post, I just love the products they provide!).

This cake was produced for a vendor show hosted by the always-amazing Heather Bradford at Bradford Farm and Venue located in Town Creek, Alabama.

Enjoy!
